Originally born in Malaysia, her parents migrated to Perth Australia so that she could further her education as a creative. Growing up, her imagination was filled with characters and stories inspired by Japanese manga, though her wise high school teachers encouraged her to also draw from real life.

She later studied at Central School of Art and Design in Perth, completing an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design with a focus on illustration and multimedia. She then went on to complete a Bachelor of Multimedia at Curtin University to deepen her curiosity about multimedia, animation and storytelling.

From that point she has worked as a graphic designer, creating websites, producing Flash animation, and illustrating interface icons. She later became a coin artist for The Perth Mint, where she worked for more than 15 years and remains as one of their employed designers. She illustrates a wide variety of themes, ranging from Australian animal icons and stylistic vector art to traditional Asian motifs.
